DMSJ 2008 - They Came, They Saw, They Conquered

Yeah. They. Not we. Haha.

Anyway, here are the quiz results:
  1. SAGC
  2. DGC
  3. JBGC
  4. MGC
We may have lost the quiz, but we kalah dengan bergaya sekali! Whoop!

As in, nobody cried or sobbed or hugged the church pillars woefully.

We're not sore losers, and that's all that matters right? That, and the fact that the contestants didn't pass up blank papers, but made the best effort to answer the questions.

Many thanks to:
  • Uncle Rodney for coordinating the whole event
  • The aunties (and some uncles) for preparing the delicious food - especially Sunday's chicken rice balls *yum* (chilli was too hot though -_-)
  • Uncle Philip for preparing the quiz questions
  • Sharma for keeping accurate time (must have been quite boring to sit up there and tekan the bell every few seconds) and for coming and doing the mime although he sprained his ankle
  • Frederick for keeping score
  • CK & Shuen for slaving over the games on Saturday and pretty much everything else
  • Gary for the lunch at Wesley Centre
  • Carina for doing up the labellings (Table 1 etc) so beautifully
  • Kevin and Shaun for songleading and emcee-ing so whole-heartedly
  • The musicians - Daniel, Adrian, CK, Shuen, and Shu Lynn for all the hard work and commitment
  • Raymond for taking photos and videos of everything (yes, even the Hey There, Delilah parody)
  • Uncle Anthony for painstakingly making sure everything was in order and in place, and for shifting everything here and there
  • Uncle Tony for making sure the electrical components were working fine
  • SAGC, DGC and JBGC for coming up with presentations although it might've caused them some inconvenience
  • Jessica, Livia and Adrian for being our fantastic representatives up there
  • Yen, Aaron and Celine for reading the whole book of Judges just to answer two True/False questions each (and for doing so well!)
  • All the youth for committing to the presentation (which was very well done =D)
  • And last, but really, not least - to everyone who came back and who stayed on to support our MGC-ians in the quiz!!!!
Am really thankful and touched that the adults bought our T-shirts just to support us, although they'll probably never have a chance to wear it to pretty much anywhere, that the ex-MMU-ians (CK & Stephen) came back to help and to provide much-needed support, that the MMU-ians (Kevin, Carina, Shu Lynn, Frederick, Gary) were so willing to spend so much time helping out with the quiz (almost making MGC their second home in the process), that Geng Yi made sure he laid everything aside to come (and even took a bus to Wesley from Ayer Keroh), that our outstation youth (Ju & Chen Li) made the effort to come back, and that Uncle Ivan came all the way from New Zealand =)

Really miss the times we were all together as The MGC and everyone was around T_T

Well, we can't have everything we want in life, right?

Thanks for making it almost happen though.

Good job, everyone!

p/s: photos are with Raymond at the time of writing. he'll burn the photos and videos and pass them to Yen. so wait up! oh, and happy birthday again, Geng Yi!
