Anything But Ordinary

Yup. That's our theme for the RBS night this Saturday. Details:

Theme: Anything But Ordinary
Date: 26 January 2008 (Saturday)
Time: 7.15pm
Ticket person: Yen Mei
Ticket price: RM 0 (yeah it's free!!!!)

RBS is short for Residential Bible School. It's sort of like a Bible School, except it's only for a month or so. The students (usually after Form 5, sometimes older) come from all over Malaysia, live together and do practically everything together. They have their own groups for devotions, games, and mission trips. This time round, we're welcoming a team headed by Lue Jun Yi (from SAGC) and Ann Choo, who also supervised the RBS team last year. We get different teams every time because the students change all the time la.

Different people, different ideas, different events.

Last year we had a skit and games.

What'll we have this year?

I have no idea. Seriously. Even Yen Mei (event coordinator) doesn't know. Probably cuz the team only begins to draft out their plan when they get here (which is on Thursday).

Come see. And you'll know.

Grin.

Sunday Football Issue

Football was cancelled on Sunday (6 Jan 2008):
  • Auntie Yu Ming and Mrs Chua weren't around for football, though they took care of the logistics stuff and drinks etc already
  • Vicki's (one of the footballers) father refused to let her and her siblings go out to play
Vicki's father was apparently quite aggressive about it, so please pray for him and his family. Auntie Yu Ming will visit him this week and talk to him. We're going to get a new ball since we've been using Vicki's ball.

Vicki really loves to play. The look on her face whenever she kicks the ball is enough to tell us that.

Her cousins have also been grounded, as well as some of the other kids. Mrs Chua says it's a queer thing that's going on in the neighbourhood. Pray that whatever's stopping the parents from allowing their children to play will be removed and overcome. Pray for Mrs Chua as she goes around calling on the children and their parents.

Oh ya. There's a young boy in the Children's Hour who doesn't want to join our youth meetings because he says we're "eksi", meaning arrogant / stuck-up. Let's all go down to the younger ones' level and talk to them this Saturday. Our socializing goal is to reach the young children and adults as well, and not just our peers (same age punya).

Happy New Year!

Hey, everyone! A happy new year to all of you out there ya! A new year, new troubles, but still the same loving God that we share in common :) . Anyway, speaking for myself, I have mixed emotions about this. Yes, it's a new year and stuff, but that means school is reopening and all those who came back for holidays are going to be scattered all over Malaysia and Singapore again. Nevertheless, let's continue to grow in the Lord no matter where we are and keep up the habit of talking to people. We don't want to see our youth dying and another person cry do we? Most importantly, be a shining light for God and a good testimony whether in school, uni or work. Thank you.
