visitin the old folks

alright. this is plagiarism. not so because i took it out of my own blog to paste here. *it's copy n paste here onwards*

anyways.

today is the 3rd day of CNY. we (ok lets name them - Ju , Chen Li, Jess, Mel, Sin Yee, Hwei, Shuen, Shaun, Sharma, Yik How and me) went to visit the old folks again. YAE! we did go back although not to plant flowers for them like we said we would. we gathered at the Bukit Baru Rumah Sejahtera Old Folks Home around 11 am. we brought 2 boxes of mandarin oranges and some ang paos for them. hwei is helping some friend with assignment so err... she did some reporter job. journalism course... dats y.

who would have thought old folks are so busy? but normally during the festive seasons where the dato's all over malacca came to visit. heard some Ghanni fella came to visit them on the 1st day of CNY and had lion dance for them. when we went there we were greeted by the Supervisor, Mr Chong (whom i thought was a Malay then was reluctant to call him Mr Chong).

moving on.

we didn't plan to do any performance so gathering at the hall was not necessary. before we could say that they rang the bell. ah freak. so we went in the hall, Sin Yee introduced us, and we started giving out the oranges and ang paos. there was this popo, she remembered us. WOOTS. er... it was like 2 weeks ago that we dropped by with RBS team. when i thought it would be just like what we did in during the RBS team week, it wasn't that similiar after all. after giving out the stuff we brought we wanted to get a start to talk to them lah. ahhh. those old folks remembered us. especially those tat we really talked to. felt welcome somehow. but sadly got others that came to visit, so we had to wait outside. Mr Chong was pretty ganas at halau-ing us. i didn't know just a simple visiting need to be planned in detail. i guess the time allocated and what we bring there have to be known to the Supervisor. anyways, it felt like Amazing Race. when we get out 1st chance we didn't do good and we had to start all over and get another waiting number. haha. but those old folks pretty grumpy when they had to go in n out the hall when people came visiting. i wonder if they were mad at us because were weren't very straightforward with what we doing. so it's like wasting their time in the hall. WE DIDN'T WANT THEM TO BE AT THE HALL AT THE FIRST PLACE WAD... perrrrrrrrrr.

all the other visitors were gone. we then found them at their respective houses to chit-chat with them. we barged into the ladies' houses 1st and were welcomed with open arms. it felt like normal visiting because the popos were like picking up the glasses and wiping tables... getting chairs for us and one even wanted to give us packet drinks. haha. i was reluctant to receive as there were only two. means those were for her. so none of the youth took it. she then went into her room to get asam for us. nice. we then headed to the next house where the men stayed. i didn't get the uncle's name the other time but i got it this time. it is Uncle Eric. he's the one i mentioned was from Singapore.

we left about 12pm. photos that are needed were taken. facts that needed to be jot down were hopefully jotted down. and we made some old folks happy. i think. they looked happy. overall it was alright lah.

so i was asked why i decided to visit the old folks. honestly i missed my grandma. but i did sort of promised them that i'll go back so i brought along some other kids lor. *scared to go alone mah* and just wanted to visit them and make them remember me. muhahhaha. i learn not to send my mom there ( i think most of the youth felt that way). how was i touched? just touched lah... can't explain. overall once again good experience. i noticed that the old folks dun really care whatever cacat topics we brought up, they will be happy even if we're just there for a visit. not promoting.
