Most of what we did while the RBS team was here has been mentioned in some detail by Yen, so I'll just briefly outline all that's been going on during the RBS week:
- 24 Jan, Thurs, 5.30pm: RBS team arrived at Melaka Sentral. Uncle Rodney,Daniel, Shaun, and I went to pick them up and sent them back to the church, after which we went out together for lunch at the Taman Asean Fish-Head Soup place (really good - try it).
- 25 Jan, Fri, 12.30pm: Uncle Rodney, Mr Chua, Yen, Daniel, Jessica, Shaun, and I had lunch with the RBS Team at Sin Hoe Garden.
- 25 Jan, Fri, approx. 2pm: Visit to the Old Folks Home. First time I've been to a Home. The caretaker's (if that's the right word) words rang through my head as I drove home: "When you grow up, don't bring your parents here."
- 25 Jan, Fri, approx. 5.30pm: Tracting in Taman Sayang Selasih, and two other places, which I can't really remember, due to my buta jalanness. Sharma joined us for the tracting. Mr and Mrs Chua kindly made drinks for us after our tracting. We went for dinner at the Tengkera makan place afterwards.
- 26 Jan, Sat, 4pm: RBS handled the Children's Hour and encountered the rascally Eric for the first time.
- 26 Jan, Sat, 7.15pm: "Anything But Ordinary" Night. We sang songs, played a team-building game, heard testimonies, watched a skit, and listened to a short sharing by the RBS team leader. And of course we makan-ed.
- 27 Jan, Sun, approx. 11.45am: Devotion-style Judges (for DMSJ) session with the RBS.
- 27 Jan, Sun, 5.30pm: Football at Taman Sayang Selasih with the RBS team.
- 28 Jan, Mon, 12pm: Mr Chua, Sharma, and I drove the RBS team to Melaka Sentral and they had lunch before going aboard (sounds wrong) the delayed Transnasional bus at 3pm.
Anyway, we're back to training the DMSJ contestants. How successful the training is... that will be revealed in time. Some of them are working really hard though, and that's a good thing.
Studying isn't everyone's favourite hobby, I guess (not saying it's mine!).
Well, the quiz's all for fellowship. But let's not shrug if off and slack because of that. Let's all work hard, work well and do our best at the quiz. Then we'll really be worthy of our trademark spirit:
