Breaking of Bread with Auntie Kim Neo

A morning worship and breaking of bread session was held in Uncle Barry's house today with Auntie Kim Neo. While in hospital, Auntie had always said that she wanted to go to church and be able to worship God and observe the Lord's supper. As it was difficult for her to travel, it was decided that we should have it in the house where she was staying instead, just like what was done for Mrs Chua some time ago.

I tried to recall who was there and counted about 23 people who came after our usual service in MGC. After singing a few songs (including Auntie Kim Neo's favourite - 'Lamb of God', as requested by Auntie Jennifer), Uncle Rodney recollected Beng Hui's earlier sharing on Psalms 77. We then broke bread and drank of the cup.

Auntie Kim Neo looked very happy and said that she had been waiting for everyone to come since Saturday. She had been really looking forward to worshiping with the church as she had not been able to come on Sunday for 2 and a half months. The ladies spent the most time chatting with her after the short service. She even joked that she refuses to take morphine anymore because she doesn't want to be a drug addict.

My dad commented that she looks very much happier at home and she smiled in reply. There's some swelling on her knees. She says she tries to take short walks outside the house but finds it increasingly difficult now.

Do pray for her that she will continue to find joy in the Lord and that she'll remain faithful to Him even during these difficult times.
